Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola dismissed speculations involving Manchester United target Toni Kroos' possible summer exit, indicating that the latter will serve out the remaining year of his contract at the Allianz Arena.

"Toni has one year more of a contract and Toni will remain there," he told the Manchester Evening News.

The Germany international has yet to sort out an extension with the Bavaria based outfit, but the former Barcelona boss expressed his desire to work with the £33million-rated attacking midfielder in the years to come.

He, however, admitted that some matters are beyond his control and that he leaves it to the club's hierarchy to make the final decision.

"I hope he can extend his contract and stay with us because he is a very good guy, he loves his game," he revealed.

"It is not just a job for him and I would like him to stay but I spoke with the player, with the club, I gave my opinion. After that I am not manager, I am just the trainer."

The 24-year-old started 21 games in the Bundesliga and 7 in the Champions League this season for Die Roten, while tallying 3 goals and 6 assists in the said competitions, but it is his ability to deliver accurate passes upfront that makes him so valuable to Bayern.
