Belgian and Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini claimed that Arsenal tried to get him last summer, but Red Devils manager David Moyes proved to be the difference-maker.

In an interview with BeIn Sports, Fellaini said Arsenal tried to claim him last summer but he did not confirm whether or not Chelsea has also shown interest in him.

"I will not reveal the details, but Arsenal wanted me this summer," Fellaini told ESPN FC.

Fellaini said Moyes' presence with the Red Devils proved to be the difference maker last summer, having had an experience to work under the manager during their time in Everton.

"During the transfer window, there's always a list of players who are available to change clubs. You never know what's right. I only knew that Moyes was interested.

"David Moyes has given me confidence. When I first joined Everton, I had difficulties, but he helped me and supported me. Moyes did everything he could to help me become a better player.

"I was criticised -- nobody knew who I was. I succeeded because I worked long and hard. That's why I'm now playing for Manchester United.

"I'm not trying to be [Paul] Scholes or [Michael] Carrick. I want to play my own game. It's difficult at the moment, but I will succeed."
