Manny Pacquiao Knocked-Out by Juan Manuel Marquez: Another Rematch Soon?
Hours after of another epic battle from the two titans of the boxing ring, Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez, whispers emerged that the boxers' camps are already arranging another action-packed bout for the two.
Manny Pacquiao hinted on another fight with Marquez for the fifth time. In an interview after the fight, Pacquiao said, "Yes, why not? It's a good fight. If you give us a chance, we'll fight again." The Twittersphere has been updating non-stop in a possible rematch for the archenemies of the boxing world.
To the shock of boxing fans worldwide, Mexican pride Juan Manuel Marquez a.k.a "Dinamita" knocked out former WBO Welterweight champion Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao in their non-title fight last Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
This is the fourth meeting of the two most-proficient fighters in the boxing ring. Marquez earned a draw in their first meeting and lost two controversial decisions in their second and third fights.
However, the Mexican successfully landed a right punch on the face of the former welterweight champion from the Philippines that made the champ landed face down on the ring. The whole MGM Grand erupted after Marquez beat the People's Champ and the latter lay motionless for several seconds.
Manny Pacquiao went down in the third round but returned the favor and knocked down Marquez in the fifth. However, Marquez did not waste any opportunity and threw a right that knocked out his opponent right before the bell rings at the sixth round and knocked out Manny.
One could guess that Marquez has been waiting for this sweet moment to finally retaliate all of his losses to Pacquiao. The former four-division world champion had bitterly disputed the results of their three previous encounters, particularly his points' loss last November in Las Vegas.
Pacquiao is known for defending his pride and title and will probably agree in another face-off with the Mexican boxer in the near future. Manny has a seven-year winning streak snapped in June by Timothy Bradley Jr. when he lost a controversial split decision in Las Vegas. Thus, this is Manny's second consecutive defeat.
Pacquiao is set to have a rematch with Bradley as recommended by the WBO Championship Committee judges on the review panel who said that Pacquiao should have won his controversial defeat. However, there has been no update from Arum Promotions about the next title bout.
Manny dismissed the rumors that he will retire after his fight with Marquez. However, he admitted that he did not anticipated that powerful punch.
