The talks involving a bout deemed as the "Fight of the Century" between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather can be put to rest now. Pacquiao has finally made his statement about the so-called potential clash with Mayweather.

The eight-division world champion has remained elusive during interviews whenever the name of Mayweather is brought up. However, in a recent interview with a local radio program in his native country, Pacquiao has finally said something.

"He really looks like he doesn't want to fight me, so I think there's nothing we can do about it already," said Pacquiao. "Let's forget it about it in the meantime," he added.

The 35-year-old boxer said that he is really tired of the fact that nothing has been decided and finalised despite all the debates and negotiations for the said fight.

The talk about such fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather initially came about in 2009. Four years later, it is still ongoing. Perhaps, Pacquiao has gotten tired of the way the anticipated multi-million blockbuster fight with the undefeated boxer has fallen out that he now expressed his resignation.

Even though Pacquiao wants to make the fight happen, he revealed that he has no plans of leaving his promoter, Bob Arum, as what Mayweather has told him to do.

"He's been asking for so many conditions which we have expressed intentions to abide by," said Pacquiao. He was referring to the drug testing and prize money split. "Now he wants me to separate myself from my promoter which I cannot possible do without violating my contract," he added.

Pacquiao also commented on Mayweather's claim that he was frantic to fight him because of his tax problems. The Filipino boxer said that the only reason why he would love to see the fight happen is because he wants to be able to bring enjoyment to many boxing fans.

"That fight is what everybody wants," said Pacquiao. "That's history in the making and I want both of us to be part of the history," he added.

Let's try to keep calm and see the big picture here. Mayweather seemed to have laid out his requests pretty clear. Mayweather has stated that he is not willing to fight Pacquiao as long as the Filipino boxer has ties with Bob Arum. There is really nothing puzzling and obscure about Mayweather's request. Pacquiao doesn't need to breach his contract with Arum to make the fight happen.

Pacquiao's contract with Arum has been extended until Dec. 31, 2014. Thus, if Pacquiao is really interested in fighting Mayweather, then he'll just have to wait until his contract with Arum is finished.

Any thoughts?
