Manny Pacquiao Next Fight: Pacquiao Agrees for a Rematch with Timothy Bradley on April 12 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas
Manny Pacquiao's next fight will be against Timothy Bradley. The Manila Bulletin reported that Pacquiao will fight Bradley on April 12 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.
According to the local Philippine newspaper, a source confirmed that the Pacquiao-Bradley rematch is all set. A press tour is reportedly going to be launched in February with stops in Los Angeles and New York City. It is anticipated that the official announcement will be made within the upcoming week.
Pacquiao and Bradley squared off for the first time on June 9, 2013. The Filipino fighting sensation lost the bout in a controversial split decision. Many people believed that Bradley's victory was undeserved. Some boxing critics even stated that the controversial split decision was one of the worst judgments in the history of boxing.
Five recognised and competent international judges of the Championship Committee of the World Boxing Organisation (WBO) reviewed the video of the said fight. On June 21, 2012, all five WBO Championship Committee judges scored the bout for Pacquiao and announced that he should have won. However, the decision cannot be reversed.
The Pacquaio-Bradley rematch is going to be an interesting fight because the alleged robbery that took place in their first fight will be vindicated. What is more? Whoever wins the bout makes him the top contender for Floyd Mayweather Jr. Don't you think?
We know that Bradley hasn't really tasted defeat with 31 wins and 0 loss. He last fought Juan Manuel Marquez in October 2013, who knocked Pacquaio out during their fifth meeting.
The eight-division Filipino world champion has once said in an interview that he wants to fight Bradley. "I want to fight Bradley, simply because I want to win back the title he took from me by a questionable decision," said Pacquiao. He seemed really determined on getting even and retaliating the dubious defeat he suffered from Bradley.
Pacquiao's financial adviser Michael Koncz will reportedly return to the Philippines from the U.S. on the weekend with all the paperworks for the Pacquiao-Bradley rematch.
