Manny Pacquiao is ready for an all-out war against challenger Chris Algieri even as head trainer Freddie Roach is set to join the Filipino boxer’s training camp in the Philippines.

“We are training him for more head movements, more punching combinations and a non-stop assault,” Buboy Fernandez, Pacquiao’s long-time friend and assistant trainer, said via an article by Aquiles Zonio at philboxing.com.

Fernandez was also confident in saying that Algieri will not go the distance should the undefeated American indulge Pacquiao in a slugfest.

“We expect a bigger and taller Algieri to run around the ring. We should be ready for that. But, just in case, Algieri decides to mix it up then much better. The fight would end earlier.”

Algieri is not a popular choice by boxing fans for Pacquiao’s next fight to be held in Macau on Nov. 22. However, Algieri (20-0-0, 8 knockouts) did beat a top boxer in Ruslan Provodnikov of Russia in his most recent bout and could offer some resistance to the highly-favoured Pacquiao (56-5-2, 38 knockouts).

Meanwhile, Pacquiao’s preparation against Algieri goes into full blast with the scheduled arrival of Freddie Roach to the Philippines where the Filipino is holding his training camp. Roach re-joining his top ward in Pacquiao was first reported by Rich Mazon also of philboxing.com. According to the same report, two fighters— Viktor Postol and Stan Martyniouk— are with Roach and will serve as Pacquiao’s sparring partners for the duration of the training camp in General Santos City in the Philippines.

The Pacquiao vs. Algieri fight will be for the World Boxing Organization (WBO) World welterweight title but is seen by many pundits just as a tune-up bout for Pacquiao, who is rumoured for a big 2015 match-up against rival Floyd Mayweather Jr.
