Manny Pacquiao is finally going to fight “him,” or so he thinks. The Filipino champ boxer pokes fun at his elusive fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr in a new commercial for Foot Locker.

The Pacquiao-Mayweather fight has been discussed for years, and yet the deal is still nowhere near closed. Boxing fans have grown increasingly tired of waiting for “the fight” that would perhaps never happen. There are new developments announced often, but after getting the fans’ hopes up, both Pacquiao and Mayweather’s camps find one or two disagreeable things about the deal, and therefore scrap “the fight” completely.

As Pacquiao claims, it’s Mayweather who always renege on their super fight, saying the U.S. fighter is obviously avoiding fighting him. “He always makes excuses,” he told The Telegraph. “Just make the fight and stop talking. I’ve made it clear that my phone line is always open for him to call me.”

Pacquiao is not only aware of the fans’ frustration, but also shares it with them. In the new Foot Locker ad, he shows exactly how eager he is for his match with Mayweather.

The 40-second ad shows two fighters discussing the athletic shoe store’s upcoming sale, referring to it as what “the people wanted.” Pacquiao overhears the last part, excitedly butting in and asking, “Wait, wait, so the thing the people wanted is finally happening?”

Confused, the two men answered yes, prompting Pacquiao to exclaim, “He’s going to fight me? He’s going to fight me!”

There is no fight, of course. The men were talking about the store’s Week of Greatness, which will kick off on November 22, the same day as Pacquiao’s match with Chris Algieri in Macau.

Pacquiao isn’t the only big name sports personality to endorse Foot Locker’s annual sale. James Harden, John Cena, and Derrick Rose and Tim Duncan also star in their respective ads for the footwear retailer.
