Millions of boxing fans and even celebrities around the world are longing for a super fight between two of the most popular boxers in their generation - Filipino Manny Pacquiao and American Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Aside from being world champions, the two are arguably the best pound-for-pound fighters today. They also have other things in common which form the elements a dream bout. Whether this fight is happening or not is still up in the air, though.

1. Winning record

Mayweather is undefeated with a professional record of 46-0-0 with 26 knockout wins, writes Boxing News 24. Pacquiao has a professional record of 56-5-2 with 38 knockout wins. Mayweather has a knockout percentage of 56 while Pacquiao has a knockout percentage of 60. Mayweather last won against Marcos Maidana via majority decision in May 2014. Pacquiao last won against Timothy Bradley in April 2014.

2. Style of Boxing

Mayweather uses the orthodox stance while Pacquiao is a left-hander or southpaw. Mayweather follows the classic boxing style while Pacquiao is described as a boxer/brawler/swarmer. Between the two, Pacquiao tends to slug it out at times while Mayweather likes to take his time and is more tactical by using frequent jabs and counterpunches. Mayweather is trained by his uncle Roger Mayweather while Pacquiao is trained by Freddie Roach.

3. Age

Mayweather is 37 years old. He was born on February 24, 1977 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Pacquiao is 35 years old. He was born on December 17, 1978 in General Santos City, Philippines.

4. Key Strengths

Mayweather has exceptional skills and very tactical which is why he is quite difficult to hit cleanly. He also has good ring instincts and is naturally athletic. His punches and jabs are very accurate. Pacquiao, on the contrary, is known for his great footwork and fast speed. He is a power puncher and explosive. Mayweather has an arm reach of 72 inches while Pacquiao has a reach of 67 inches.

5. Multiple Titles

Mayweather has won five WBC titles from super featherweight to light middleweight. He also won the IBF and IBO welterweight belts. Pacquiao holds the record to be the first and only fighter to win in eight divisions from flyweight to light middleweight.

Should a mega fight ensue, the two fighters are bound to earn at least $50 million each.
