CyanogenMod 10.2 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean

CyanogenMod 10.2 is now available for the Sony Xperia ZL and it includes customisation options, optimised system, improved battery life and bears latest features from Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

Warning: CyanogenMod 10.2 is a custom ROM which requires rooting your Xperia ZL to install it. Rooting your device will void its warranty and flashing a custom ROM may damage it. We are not responsible for any errors or damages which may occur on your Xperia ZL. Read, follow and understand the instructions to prevent damaging your device. Do this at your own risk.

Requirements:

- Create a backup of all your personal information, settings and data files.

- Ensure that the battery level must be at least 50 per cent to avoid power interruptions during installation.

- Root your Sony Xperia ZL and install a ClockworkMod recovery.

- Enable the USB debugging mode. Go to "Settings > Developer options > Enable developer options > USB debugging."

- Download and install the USB drivers necessary for your Sony Xperia ZL on the computer.

- Download the CyanogenMod 10.2 Android 4.3 custom ROM to your computer.

- Download the Google Apps package to your computer.

Flashing Instructions:

1. Connect your Sony Xperia ZL to the computer using a USB cable.

2. Copy and paste both the CyanogenMod 10.2 custom ROM and the Google Apps package on the SD card of the Xperia ZL. Do not extract any of them.

3. Disconnect your device and turn it off.

4. Reboot into Recovery mode by pressing volume up repeatedly till the device turns on.

5. Inside the recovery mode, create a Nandroid backup of the current ROM by selecting "backup and restore > backup." Use it if you want to revert back to the previous ROM.

6. Perform a full wipe on the device. Select "wipe data/factory reset" and "wipe cache partition." Then go to "advanced > wipe Dalvik cache."

7. Now install the CM10.2 Android 4.3 custom ROM. Select "install zip from SD card > choose zip from SD card > select the CyanogenMod 10.2 custom ROM you have copied earlier > confirm installation." Apple the same with the Google Apps package.

8. Once the installation has been completed, go back to the main menu and select "reboot system now."

9. The Sony Xperia ZL will reboot and may take up to five minutes to reach the home screen.
