Robert Pattinson has done a score of movies but he's most notable for his role as the vampire heartthrob Edward Cullen. While for actors this could work against them, the same cannot be said of Robert Pattinson. Somehow, director of "Maps to the Stars" shares that he could easily look past that famous role Robert took on.

"I have no problem ignoring that," the director said of Robert's acting in the Twilight franchise. "Of course I watched the first Twilight movie just to see what he was like and get a feel for his screen presence and so on and so on...by the time you're on the set, it's just the two of you making movies. You forget your own movies too."

The director also hinted that he provided Robert this chance to be part of "Maps to the Stars" because it is precisely what the young actor confessed to the director that he wanted to do. The director knew Robert can act, especially on his role in "Cosmopolis." The movie showcased Robert's acting prowess as he was in every scene. But Robert had confessed that he would want to dabble in a project where he's just part of an empowering cast.

"He told me that he was scared about Cosmopolis because he had not really wanted to do a movie where he was the lead and had the whole movie on his shoulders," the director detailed. "And of course in that movie he's in almost every scene. He said, 'One day I'd love to do an ensemble piece where there are a lot of good actors and [he's] just one of them.'"

In this movie, Pattinson would play a limo driver and an aspiring screenwriter at the same time. Included in the powerful cast are Mia Wasikowska and Julianne Moore.

This is not the first time that the young actor expressed his desire to be almost, obscured and invisible. After becoming a global household name through "Twilight," and making privacy almost impossible in his life, Pattinson sold his house located in Griffith Wood, Los Angeles. He revealed that this is a well-thought out decision and part of his desire to disassociate himself from Hollywood. The actor thinks it's not a place to be when someone wants to be pushed into doing something.
