Maria Sharapova attended the world premiere of the Porsche Macan at the Los Angeles Auto Show on Wednesday.

Prior to the world premiere, Sharapova also tweeted how she has been preparing for it. "Rehearsing for the unveiling of the @Porsche Macan, top secret stuff :) #cars #boytoys," she wrote.

Sharapova graced the event wearing an elegant black dress with a plunging neckline. Her blonde hair was down up to her shoulders.

"Here we go, reading the script pre-game time, @Porsche #PorscheMacan," Sharapova wrote on Twitter, along with a picture of her at the auto show.

In 2013, the Russian tennis superstar has signed a three-year contract as a brand ambassador for Porsche. She was the first global endorser of the German car maker. Her Porsche endorsement deal is the second time that she has signed a deal with a luxury car manufacturer. In 2006, Sharapova also signed a three-year deal with Land Rover.

"I have had the privilege to become associated with some of the best brands in the world," Sharapova said. "And now, to be partners with Porsche, it is such an amazing honour," she added.

Porsche is certainly expanding beyond its traditional vehicles. The new Porsche Macan got its name from Indonesian word "macan" which means tiger. It is the first SUV that the German car manufacturer has built. It is described as a sports car-SUV type.

Aside from playing tennis, Sharapova keeps herself busy with numerous sponsorships as well as her own business, Sugarpova, a premium candy line. Thus, despite missing most of the 2013 tennis season because of her injury, she still managed to earn a lot. In fact, she currently holds the top position in the Forbes List of Highest-Paid Female Athletes.

Sharapova is expected for a big return on the 2014 season. She has a lot of things lined for her. She will be playing at the Brisbane International and the BNP Paribas Open. She has also been named as the new correspondent of National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) to cover the upcoming Winter Olympics which will be held in her hometown Sochi in Russia.
