Maria Sharapova Beauty Secrets: Russian Star Shares Tips For Flawless Skin
Russian tennis darling Maria Sharapova's beauty and flawless complexion have led to major endorsement deals with companies such as Tiffany & Co., Nike and Avon. When it comes to her beauty secrets, Sharapova is just keeping things simple.
In an interview with Bobbi Brown for Yahoo Beauty, Sharapova shared three basic beauty secrets to achieving a healthy and flawless skin. According to the World No. 2, she said that she often gets asked about her beauty routine, but for the 27-year-old athlete, the trick is to take good care of the skin and not about the cosmetics that women put on their face.
Sharapova said that she doesn't wear any makeup when she plays tennis, either during training or professional matches. "Hydrating your skin, getting enough sleep, wearing sunscreen, those things are so basic, but we overlook them so often," Sharapova said. She added that sunscreen has always been a part of her beauty regimen ever since she was seven years old, especially growing up in Florida. Sharapova and her father moved to Florida in 1994. Her mother joined them after two years because of visa restrictions.
Sharapova's beauty secrets are just one of the topics that she discussed in her chat with Yahoo. She also talked about her love for Russian food as well as her business venture during the interview. As big as she is right now, Sharapova also shared that she still gets butterflies in her stomach every time she plays in tournaments in front of thousands of people.
In April, Sharapova became the new co-owner of SuperGoop, a skincare company specializing on suncare. She revealed to Vogue that she has always used SuperGoop even before she met Holly Thaggard, the owner of the company.
Because she stays long hours under the sun, Sharapova needed to find a product that can help protect her skin. She said that she uses Supergoop SPF 30 City Sunscreen Serum and Supergoop SPF 37 Advanced Anti-Aging Eye Cream in the morning after cleaning her face. In the evening, she uses Supergoop Save Face Serum also after cleaning and moisturising her skin.
