Maria Sharapova has her own throng of fans who follow and imitate her sense of style, but the Russian tennis darling has recently revealed that she also looks up to other female celebrities.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Sharapova notably mentioned three female names that she looks up to and admires. According to the world's seventh-ranked and top Russian athlete who just turned 27 in April, she said that she has high respect for former professional tennis athlete Monica Seles. "Monica Seles was an idol of mine," Sharapova claimed. "Of course, she was a great player, but it was her pure determination on the court that I really drew inspiration from," Sharapova added.

In addition to Seles, Sharapova said that she wants Hollywood's Gwyneth Paltrow to play her character if her stunning life story is to be featured in a movie. "I would have to say Gwyneth Paltrow."

"She is a really great actress, and I also think she is beautiful."

As an athlete, Sharapova has risen to the top of the style pack and many girls look up to her as a fashion icon, but apparently, she channels the fashion choices of British actress Audrey Hepburn. "She is my absolute style icon and a real inspiration for me."

In an interview with Glamour Magazine in February, Sharapova said that Hepburn's "classic and check sense of style" are the reasons why she looks up to her as one of her favourite style icons.

Sharapova is a classic, chic, pretty, and fashionable athlete but she is not afraid to be lighten up and put on a vibrant act. She was seen dancing in Pharell's "Happy" song in the video she shared on Twitter.

Sharapova in the 2014 French Open

Sharapova reached the finals before losing to Serena Williams in the 2013 French Open Roland Garros tournament. However, there will be "no repeat" of Sharapova and Williams' final match in 2014 because both players are drawn in the "same quarterfinal stage pool" in the 2014 French Open, Theroar.com.au reported.

Sharapova will play against fellow Russian player Ksenia Pervak in the first round of the tournament on May 26.
