James: One-week suspension

Harlequins' Joe Marler and Gloucester's Will James have both been suspended for striking an opponent.

Marler was brought before a Premiership disciplinary with regards to an offense that occurred during Quins' clash with London Irish on September 3.

The prop pled guilty to the offense and was handed a three-week ban. He will be available for selection on October 5.

James' indiscretion occurred during the Cherry and Whites game with Northampton on September 4. He too pleaded guilty and was suspended for two weeks. However, due to his good disciplinary record, the ban was reduced to one week.

The lock will be free to play on September 20.
