A woman, who feels her biological clock is ticking, is ready to take control of her destiny. Her first step, which may be seen desperate by some, is to get hitched with a stranger in front of the cameras.

Vanessa, 31, joins other strangers who’ll take a chance at finding true love in “Married At First Sight Australia” 2017. Admitting that she’s lonely, Vanessa wants to embark on the next chapter of her life. “This is an opportunity to meet someone that I might be able to spend my life with,” she said in a promotional teaser on the reality show’s Facebook page.

“When I turned 30, I didn’t feel that loneliness as much as turning 31 – it’s a little bit different. There’s always one thing that is missing,” she shared. According to the brunette beauty, women have this biological clock that knocks at their doors when they reach a certain age.

“I haven’t met someone that I want to have children with,” Vanessa confessed during her interview. “That makes me nervous.” Suddenly, she became emotional and even asked for a minute to collect herself.

Vanessa also revealed that she gets sad whenever a friend or a loved one gets married, which is not a normal reaction. She also could not help but feel insecure, questioning herself if there’s something wrong with her. She said she finds herself asking, “Why hasn’t this happened to me yet?”

Perhaps seeing “Married At First Sight” as her last chance to meet the one, she broke the news to her family during dinner. “I’m going to get married to a stranger,” she said, leaving her family shocked. A woman, who seemed to be her mum, asked her why she’s doing it.

The teaser video also shows Vanessa picking a wedding gown, putting on a gorgeous white number and riding a bridal car. At that point, she shared, “I don’t think people are meant to go through life not having a partner.”

She’d soon get her wish – be paired with someone, albeit a total stranger on “Married At First Sight Australia.” The TV social experiment, which wrapped up its third season last September, saw three couples deciding to stay together, while the two others called it quits. However, all five pairs have since separated.
