Marvel: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 3 episode 6 recap: Gideon Malik strengthens Hydra in ‘Among Us Hide…’

Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) returns to Phil Coulson’s (Clark Gregg) group. A new villain may also beef up Grant Ward’s (Brett Dalton) Hydra in Season 3 episode 6 of “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” titled “Among Us Hide…”

In the new trailer, May returns to S.H.I.E.L.D. and is determined to avenge her ex-husband, Dr. Andrew Garner (Blair Underwood). She will attempt to get back at Ward for what he did to Garner. Agent Bobby Morse (Adrianne Palicki) joined May in bringing down Ward.

Previously, May and Lance Hunter (Nick Blood) tried to attack Ward and his group, but the latter was ready. He threatened to kill Garner if they continue. Lance was given a choice, but he apologised to May and proceeded to go after Ward. In the final scene, there was a pool of blood beside Garner’s body, which was most likely the result of Lance’s action. Hunter and May had no choice but to continue pursuing Ward.

Meanwhile, Gideon Malik (Powers Boothe) seemed to be a promising nemesis to the agency after he contacted Ward. Malik mentioned that the several mistakes that was made in rebuilding the group will be useful to Hydra. The rest of the group will have to work together if they plan to reach Ward now that Malik will be in their way.

Executive producer Jeph Loeb has described Gideon as incredibly menacing that even Ward might fear him. Powers was the ideal actor to deliver the powerful performance that they required, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Meanwhile, Episode 7 put Rosalind Price’s (Constance Zimmer) leadership and unit in doubt. Daisy (Chloe Bennet) and Phil Coulson suspect that the ATCU may be hiding a huge secret from them. Coulson is apprehensive about trusting Price, although he begins to doubt that Price may only be using them to bring in the Inhumans, which might prove to be disposable when they accomplish their mission. Daisy is also getting more cautious.

“Among Us Hide…” was written by Drew Z. Greenberg and directed by Dwight Little.

Season 3 Episode 8 of “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” will air on Nov. 10 at 10 pm ET.
