'Marvel: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' season 3 spoilers: Ming-Na Wen reveals Melinda May's role in conflict between Captain America and Iron Man, relationship with Simmons

Season 3 of “Marvel: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” is about to get even messier as the team continues to search for Inhumans and determine whether they are allies or foes. Hive (Brett Dalton) is growing stronger and will be a huge problem for the agency.

Collider recently spoke exclusively with Ming-Na Wen, who plays Melinda May. She shared some details about the show and her status in the conflict between Captain American and Iron Man, among others.

The actress shared that at present, Agent May will be shut down ultimately as far as Lash/Andrew is concerned. Although Andrew may have betrayed her to a certain extent by not telling her the truth about what happened to him, May understands that he did so to protect her and their relationship. May will be focusing on the agency and support Coulson (Clark Gregg). She will feel that she is most effective working with the team and will use her skills instead of feeling emotionally negative.

Ming-Na Wen added that her relationship with other members of the team will also evolve in the future. She will feel specifically connected to Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) because they both have a link to Lash. She is uncertain whether May and Simmons will be working together to hunt down Lash.

May’s main goal at present is to ensure that all team members can protect themselves against Inhumans. May is not very comfortable with Simmons, or anyone, and is not expected to share her feelings anytime soon. Wen also said that she enjoys doing fight scenes. There will be more action and battles as the current season nears its end.

As regards “Captain America: Civil War,” Wen said that she will be siding with whoever is closer to Thor. The actress also said that fighting Inhumans is a huge concern for May. She will not be very happy about Hive taking over Ward’s body. However, she hypothesized that if Hive should decide to use May’s body as a host, the latter might control the powerful Inhuman.
