'Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D' season 4 spoilers: Chloe Bennet on changing from Daisy to Quake; edgier, grittier season coming
Original air date on ABC: September 20, 2016
Fans of “Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” will soon be able to witness Chloe Bennet become her other self, Quake. Quake was first revealed at the end of the third season when Daisy left SHIELD. With her new identity, Quake will draw all kinds of bad attention as a powerful being which pushes Phil Coulson to track down his former apprentice.
Chloe reveals in an interview how the series introduced Quake by saying that she knew how the writers were particular about how they wanted the character to be revealed. She adds that she loved how the crew unveiled the character through flash forward scenes and newspaper articles.
When asked about how she feels to be Quake, she told Hollywood Reporter that it's “amazing.” She adds that she loves that it all stems from what she has been going through and that it is not necessarily her being so great all of a sudden, but how she becomes Quake because of the past she had to deal with which is not perfect.
She then proceeded to reveal why she thinks Quake will jive well with “Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” fans. She says that Quake has imperfections like everybody else and that viewers of the show can sympathize with her because they can relate with the trauma that she has been through.
She also reveals that Quake went rouge because every time someone gets close to her, they die. Her mom, dad and her first boyfriend all tried to kill her so she ended up being sort of protective of people that she cares about by keeping a distance from them.
Chloe Bennet’s new alter ego appears as the exact opposite of Daisy’s character. While viewers have known Daisy to be a lonely girl who was desperate to have a family, Quake on the other hand is desperate to keep people she cares about away from her. On Daisy’s decision to leave S.H.I.E.L.D., Bennet reaveals that her character has been doing more harm than good.
It has been revealed earlier than “Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” will be taking on a darker, edgier and grittier tone when its fourth season premieres on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 on ABC.
