'Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite' pre-order price, special editions and Ultron Sigma's introduction
“Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite” recently released a new story trailer which details the game’s main villain, Ultron Sigma. The antagonist is the embodiment of two famous baddies from both Marvel and Capcom: the evil robot Ultron from Marvel and Capcom’s own wicked droid from the “Mega Man X” series, Sigma. The two join forces to utilise the Infinity Stones in order to produce their own killer robot, thus giving birth to the first hybrid character in the “Marvel vs. Capcom” franchise. In addition to this recent trailer, details on the game’s pre-orders and special editions have also been released.
The upcoming video game will be having three editions: Standard, Deluxe and Collector’s. While the Standard Edition will cost $80, the Deluxe Edition — which will come with the Gladiator Hulk and Command Mission X costumes, as well as a Steelbook case — bumps up the price to $120. The price tag is further justified by the 2017 Character Pass, which gives players access to six post-launch characters, the first being Sigma.
Meanwhile, the Collector’s Edition — costing a hefty penny at $267 — will not only come with a Deluxe Edition of the game, it will also have LED-powered replicas of the Infinity Stones. On top of this, the Collector’s Edition will also include four interlinking dioramas from TriForce, featuring Capcom’s Chun-Li and Mega Man X, plus Marvel’s Iron Man and Captain Marvel. It’s also worth taking note of that regardless of which edition players will opt for, every pre-order will come with the Warrior Thor and Evil Ryu costumes.
Besides the pre-order bonuses and recent story trailer, Capcom also revealed new additions to the game’s character roster. These new inclusions include Marvel’s Ultron, Hulk, Thor, Hawkeye and Rocket Raccoon, as well as Chun-Li of the “Street Fighter” series, Strider Hiryu of “Strider” and Chris Redfield from the “Resident Evil” franchise.
The game is the sixth main entry in the “Marvel vs. Capcom” series. It follows the previous “Marvel vs. Capcom Origins” game from 2012 which was released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. “Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite,” on the other hand, will be made available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows by September.
