Save the timing! Agents of SHIELD premieres tonight at 8 pm on ABC.

Agents of SHIELD may not have the super-power like The Avengers nor has it the star power. However, it promises to win the race with its sense of humour. That is why it is more 'human' than its counterpart as they say: "Not all heroes are super".

The Hulk, Spiderman, The X-Men, The Avengers and The Fantastic Four - all have one thing in common when they save New York: superpowers. On the other hand, the SHIELD agents are going to save the city with their human capabilities only. Disney owns both Marvel Comics and ABC. Live-action shows on TV have been a regular for the comic book company.

Joss Whedon's 2012 venture on the bigger screen, The Avengers, was hugely successful. The second instalment of the Avengers series is due on the silver screen in 2015 - The Avengers: Age of Ultron. In the meantime, Whedon returns to the small screen with Agents of SHIELD. He also directed an episode called Dream On for another hugely successful TV series, GLEE. However, he will leave the series after its first episode as he is going to be occupied for the next Avengers film.

Each episode of the series promises to have an individual entity, which means that viewers will be able to enjoy the episode even if they have missed the previous one(s). Actress Ming-Na Wen, playing Melinda May, was talking to IGN. She said that, despite the individual nature of each episode, viewers would probably prefer going back to watch the previous episodes anyway.

On the flip side, the agents of SHIELD is going to clash head on with NCIS that comes on CBS. Even though this is the 11th season for NCIS, viewers are still much in awe with its characters. As Cote de Pablo is all set to leave the ensemble cast after the first two episodes, nobody seems to have a choice but to watch the tearful farewell.
