Maryland Teenager Caught Planning To Bomb His School Two Days Before The Attack
Due to a number of car robberies in suburban Baltimore, policemen followed a trail to discover an alleged school shooting and bombing plot just two days before the plan.
Sash Alexander Nemphos, 16, was taken up and charged on Monday as an adult after Baltimore County cops said they found weapons in his Monkton home. He had a handgun and materials that could manufacture homemade explosives, according to NBC. A bomb squad cleared three explosive devices and also came across tools and parts of bombs, the statement said.
The teenager had a scheme to bring homemade bombs and even a handgun to school before he got arrested during the weekend, according to the police. He was a 10th-grade student at George Washington Carver Center for Arts and Technology, and confessed that he "wanted to kill people," according to NY Daily News.
Detectives managed to catch Nemphos after exploring a series of car accidents and getting tipped off by one of the sources. When questioned, Nemphos admitting that he had a strategy to kill people at his school. With a handgun inside his backpack on Friday, he decided to put off the attack for later.
Investigators confirm that Nemphos showed them the weapons on Saturday but didn't give a motive for his plan. He was arrested without bail and was at first assessed for his mental health at a juvenile home. He has been accused of holding a destructive device, robbery and a handgun violation. Fortunately, he was alone in the whole scheme and did not have anyone else in the plan.
Most of the school students seemed to be shell-shocked, according to one of the students. The whole school found it difficult to believe that a classmate could want to murder them, according to Baltimore Sun. The diversity of the school puts value on every person there. No one is ever put down, and there were no symptoms to explain why Nemphos acted that way. In fact, the school takes special care to see that no one bullies or alienates others. Then what made the teenager behave the way he did, school authorities wondered.
