Philip Vakos might not have made it very far on the 'MasterChef', but he says that his TV career has just started.
The Greek bachelor says he is Australia's answer to The Naked Chef and shows interest in having his own travel and cooking show after being removed from the reality TV food contest.
"I've got my eye on the prize and when I put my mind to something, I know I can achieve it," Vakos said in an interview with the Daily Telegraph.
"The thing for me is that there's nothing more I want to do than a food, cooking, travel show. This is what I really want so I can't count myself out.
"I give everything 110 per cent so in this case I'm going to do the same thing."
He also spoke of his new-found heartthrob status. About his being single, he says that he is still looking around.
Before MasterChef, Vakos weighed 93kg. He decided to lose some pounds before entering the show, eating no carbs and only "about five chicken breasts and 1kg of steamed vegies and six egg whites" per day for four weeks before the show.
He also did four hours of exercise a day.
A rep from Channel 10 said that although Vakos is a talented cook and seems to have a bright future in TV, "there are no current plans for a solo venture".
On another note, major MasterChef sponsor Coles apologised for selling Vakos and fellow contestant Callum Hann expired pastry sheets.
"The pastry from last night's show did not meet our standards, which was very disappointing," Coles spokesman Jim Cooper said.
