"Magic Mike" actor Matt Bomer gets more attention and support after "American Psycho" writer Bret Easton Ellis' rant that the openly gay Bomer is incapable of portraying the possessive BDSM practicing billionaire Christian Grey in the much awaited "Fifty Shades of Grey" film.

Bret Easton Ellis originally stated that the "White Collar" star should not get the coveted role because he is gay. This statement only made the fans of Matt Bomer want him more as the character Christian Grey.

According to Books & Review, Bomer's supporters responded back by taking to "Twitter" to let Ellis know just how wrong he is.

Meanwhile, Bret Easton Ellis has recently decided to change his tone because of the numerous backlash that he has experienced for his comment that a gay actor cannot portray Christian Grey.

"You know what? I changed my mind: I now think a gay actor HAS GOT to play Christian Grey. It's IMPERATIVE that someone gay plays him. Let's destroy the bullsh*t stereotypes of Hollywood studio moviemaking and cast a gay actor as Christian Grey in '50 Shades of Grey.' A win. But I still don't think Matt Bomer should play the role," Ellis recently posted on his Twitter account.

Even though Bret Easton Ellis still thinks that Matt Bomer is not the best choice to portray the lead male character in the erotic novel "Fifty Shades of Grey," the author now thinks that he is wrong about a gay actor not being able to take on the role.

Now, this idea leaves an interesting thought on fans of the book on who among openly gay actors out there besides Matt Bomer could actually portray Christian Grey in the upcoming "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie.
