Matt Bomer Talks about His Character and Work Experience in ‘White Collar’ and ‘Magic Mike’ [PHOTOS]
"White Collar" star Matt Bomer opened up in an interview to talk about his character, Neal, on the successful TV series. The 35-year-old actor did not forget to mention as well his work experience in the film "Magic Mike" that helped him catapult into Hollywood stardom.
The success of "Magic Mike" definitely changed Matt Bomer's life and acting career. "I am so grateful that people responded that way to the film. It became something very different which is amazing and completely surprising! I'm so glad that Channing Tatum decided to tell the story and I got to be a part of it," the actor shared.
When asked what he thinks about taking off his shirt most of the time in "Magic Mike," Matt Bomer revealed that he fear actually motivated him. "I just remember that at some point they're going to call 'action' and I'm going to be scantily clad and going to be held accountable for it, so fear motivates me to go work out," Bomer explained.
However, Matt Bomer declared that he does not really want to portray characters that are just taking off their shirts. Matt obviously wants to be recognized for his acting skills and not because of his sexy body.
With the return of "White Collar" Season 3 on Alibi, Matt Bomer talks about his character, Neal, on the show and the story conflicts due to Neal's mysterious past. "We get glimpses of that towards the end of the season, but we don't really get into his past until the fourth season. But one of the fun things about this character is he has so many secrets," Bomer stated.
Matt Bomer even revealed that he learned a couple of tricks from working on "White Collar" as a con artist. The tricks include the usual picking locks and pockets. "Now I have a former con artist, a consultant on set, who taught me how to pick pockets and pick locks and use sleight of hand. I am good at learning it about 15 minutes before we film it and then forgetting it half an hour afterwards," Bomer shared.
Meanwhile, the season finale of "White Collar" in the United States will have the fans eager to find out what will happen next. A lot of questions have to be answered on how Neal will face his conflicts and emotions on his relationship with his family, Sara and even Peter with the upcoming fifth season of the TV show.
