Screenwriter Bret Easton Ellis bashed "White Collar" star Matt Bomer saying that he is "too gay" for the role of Christian Grey in the film adaptation of the erotic novel "Fifty Shades of Grey."

Author Bret Easton Ellis posted several tweets expressing his disagreement to the idea of casting Matt Bomer for the role. Below are some of his tweets.

"Fifty Shades of Grey: the most popular book on the planet having Matt Bomer--a gay actor--play Christian Grey is absolutely ludicrous. Why?

"Okay I'll say it. Matt Bomer isn't right for Christian Grey because he is openly gay. He's great for other roles but this is too big a game.

"I am NOT discriminating Matt Bomer because of his sexuality. Fifty Shades of Grey demands an actor that is genuinely into women. Get it?!?

"I think Matt Bomer is incredibly handsome and a good actor but I think he comes off totally gay in White Collar. And that is why no to CG..."

The writer spent a total of 11 tweets directly on the subject, and several others on the topic of homosexuality on Hollywood.

Matt Bomer is reported as the frontrunner to play the main role of Christian Grey in the movie version of "Fifty Shades of Grey." Bomer was linked to the suave Christian Grey earlier via fan-made Entertainment Weekly cover, and has been on the lips of fans ever since, along with Ian Somerhalder and Ryan Gosling, to name a few.

Bomer announced that he was gay in February during an awards ceremony. The actor thanked his partner with whom he has been in a relationship for some time.

Earlier this summer, Bomer told E! Online, "I never really endeavored to hide anything. But there were times I chose not to relegate my history to the back page of a magazine, which to me is sort of akin to putting your biography on a bathroom wall."

Bret Easton Ellis, on the other hand, will not be writing the script for the movie adaptation as producers announced the shortlisted writers up in the running to pen the BDSM novel.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Karen Croner (Admission), Dan Fogelman (Crazy, Stupid, Love), Veena Sud (TV's The Killing) and Kelly Marcel (Saving Mr. Banks) are the contenders to write the screen adaptation of E.L. James' bestseller Fifty Shades of Grey.
