Angry FSOG fans started a petition after finding out that actor Charlie Hunnam will portray Christian Grey instead of their top choice Matt Bomer. The Internet is currently filled with hostile responses from fans along with the petition to cast Matt Bomer and Alexis Bledel as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele for the upcoming film.

However, the 35-year-old actor looks oblivious to the ongoing online uproar as he buries himself with work filming the scenes for "White Collar" Season 5. Fans spotted Mr Bomer looking dapper in a suit as con man Neal Caffrey and one fan even shared a video on YouTube showing the TV series' cast members working on the set.

According to the SocialiteLife.com report, loads of fans were displeased that the "Fifty Shades of Grey" film team did not pick the "White Collar" hunk for the male lead character. Some fans expressed their frustration on Twitter and insist that Mr Bomer is the perfect Christian Grey.

A petition filed in Change.org asking for Matt Bomer and "Gilmore Girls" actress Alexis Bledel to be cast in the upcoming "Fifty Shades of Grey" film has already gathered over 13,000 signatures. "We can do anything guys, anything," the petition stated.

Producer Dana Brunetti admitted that the entire "Fifty Shades of Grey" team already expected the angry reactions from fans. The producer posted on his Twitter account @DanaBrunetti: "There is a lot that goes into casting that isn't just looks. Talent, availability, their desire to do it, chemistry with other actor, etc."

Mr Brunetti further explained to the Internet film site Indiewire: "You could never meet the expectations of so many who have visualised their different ideas of characters from how they read it in a book," the producer stated to the Internet film site Indiewire.

In the mean time, fans can watch Matt Bomer return as Neal Caffrey for 13 episodes in USA Network's "White Collar" Season 5 starting October 17 at 9 p.m. Eastern time.
