No one is more excited to know that Miley Cyrus has been named the hottest woman this year than Miley Cyrus herself. The former Disney star excitedly proclaimed on Saturday that she has topped Maxim's annual Hot 100 list. The magazine hasn't made any announcements yet.

"Didn't know this was coming out yet! I'm so happy to be #1 on Maxims Hot 100! #myfanskickass #dreamsdocometrue," she posted her photo for the magazine on Twitter.

She also posted the photo, which showcases her slim body in gold cut out swimsuit, on her newly set up Instagram account, with the caption: "My 1st Instagram is dedicated to all my fans <3 thank you for crowning me #1Maxim Hot 100."

Maxim hasn't confirmed Miley's hot list coronation yet, and it isn't known when it will unveil the rest of the Hot 100 list, though the magazine typically releases their list around this time of the year.

The 20-year-old controversial singer-actress rose from last year's No. 68, and overthrew supermodel Bar Refaeli in the top position.

Her selection was perhaps influenced by her recent photo shoots from other magazines. The latest and her most risqué to date is from V magazine, where she showed major skin with topless and butt-baring photos.

Her change of image from a sweet child star to a daring seductress didn't happen overnight. She has been showing signs of wanting to transform her image even before her TV show "Hannah Montana" ended two years ago.

In 2008 when she was just 15, she posed for Vanity Fair magazine in a photo shoot by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz. The photo saw Miley wrapped in a bedsheet, appearing topless. The photo caused controversy as Miley was still a minor and under contract with kid-friendly network Disney. She apologised for the photo, saying that she originally thought the photo would come out "artistic."
