Until American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr officially retires from professional boxing in late 2015, he would likely remain the highest-paid athlete since his Saturday rematch with Argentinean boxer Marcos Maidana has a $32 million guaranteed purse, according to MMA Mania.

That would bring to $137 million the income he received from 3 fights, including two matches against Maidana. The figure is just minimum because Money May will still receive a share from pay-per-view purchases for the bout.

That would again give Mayweather a reason to flaunt his wealth by showing his cheque and the many things he could buy with his $32 million such as cars, jewellery and house for current fiancé Doralee "Bad" Medina. It would also be his response to critics who make fun of the boxer's lack of education and alleged difficulty in reading.

Maidana, in turn, would receive $3 million, double his $1.5 million purse in May, but just spare change compared to Mayweather's loot.

Boxing observers estimate that Mayweather's total winnings so far, excluding his rematch with Maidana, at $400 million. With 3 remaining fights until he retires, and given his earnings the past 2 fights of at least $30 million guaranteed purse, which means Money May's total earnings would likely reach $500 million by the time he hangs his gloves.

And if one of his two remaining fights would be with Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao as speculated, then it may even rise to $600 million since the figure floating regarding the dream match is a record-breaking $227 million.

However, Mayweather would need to limit beating people to his ring opponent and keep his iron fists off his girlfriend, otherwise he may end up bankrupt like former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson who earned $300 million in his boxing career.
