Mayhem is what we will expect in the rematch between the pound for pound king and the challenger who is giving him his money's worth.

Floyd "Money" Mayweather, Jr. (46-0, 26 KOs) will again put his immaculate record on the line against Marcos Maidana (35-4, 31 KOs) as they clash at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on September 13. As early as last Week Money Mayweather has already guaranteed a rematch to Maidana. He made it official by announcing the fight through social media last Thursday.

The rematch would like to erase any doubts of the controversial close decision win of Mayweather over Maidana last May 3 when he faced the latter for the first time. The 37-year old fighter did enough to win via majority decision, 117-111, 116-112 and 114-114. The triumph allowed Mayweather to unify the 147-pound world titles in what critics observed to be the toughest fight that the pound for pound king faced.

"It was such a great fight in May and I know everywhere I've been going the fans have been saying that and that Floyd should fight him in a rematch," Mayweather Promotions chief executive Leonard Ellerbe told ESPN.com. "So why not? Maidana thought he won the fight. Floyd knows he won the fight. It was a tremendous fight."

The fight will still be promoted by Golden Boy which comes as a surprise to the boxing world in light of recent news of internal conflicts within the organization. Just last month, Golden Boy chief executive Richard Shaefer left the company and since Shaefer was unusually close to Ellerbe and Mayweather, all but assumed that the duo will also leave the promotion outfit.

This is not the case as Goldon Boy Promotions will still be in charge of the promotion aspect as it did with all of Mayweather fights since 2007. While Mayweather has been quoted that he was only working with Golden Boy because of Shaefer, reports say that the decision has been made due to business. The experience and heavy lifting that Golden Boy Promotions has made over the years made it the only choice to promote the fight.
