Mayweather Took a Big Smack at De La Hoya's Addiction Problems, Mocks 'Golden Boy' on His Official Instagram Account
Floyd "Money" Mayweather won his bout against Mexican boxer Canelo Alvarez on Sept. 14 at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nev.
Mayweather has a lot of reasons to celebrate. He now has an outstanding 45 wins-0 loss to his boxing record. He is definitely going to remain undefeated, for now, that is.
On Monday, just a couple of days after his fight against Alvarez, Mayweather posted a meme on his official Instagram account showing a photo of a sad De La Hoya. Its caption reads, "OSCAR: I gave Canelo the wrong blueprint, I was high." Take a look at the picture below.
Obviously, the photo is unquestionably related to Mayweather's success over Alvarez and De La Hoya's stint it rehab. It is not likely that Mayweather created the meme, but he still took a big smack at De La Hoya by posting and sharing it on his Instagram.
Mixed comments and responses poured over at the joke on De La Hoya. As expected, De La Hoya fans did not like it. "At least, he didn't go to jail for beating women," a fan commented on the post. Mayweather fans, on the other hand, thought it was funny.
It was no secret that Alvarez is under De La Hoya's company, Golden Boy Promotions. De La Hoya was once quoted saying that he's been giving Alvarez a blueprint on how he can defeat Mayweather. If he really did, well, it didn't work because it was clear that Mayweather dominated the fight.
Having had voluntarily entered himself in a treatment facility to combat his addiction problems, De La Hoya failed to watch the boxing event on Saturday.
Mayweather overpowered and conquered De La Hoya in 2007. It is nothing new that he does not think greatly of De La Hoya, but do you think he has earned the right to mock him?
