Mayweather Wins Lawsuit vs New Orleans Wine Bar, But Damage Is Only A Measly $2,250
American boxer Floyd Mayweather has the monicker "Money May" because of the millions he has earned in his professional boxing career, making him the highest paid athlete, beating disgraced golfer Tiger Woods.
And he doesn't hide the fact that he has oodles and oodles of money, posting selfies counting stacks of paper bills in bundles and videos of his shopping sprees buying jewelry for himself and his women.
In another show of his love for money, he recently demanded that two-thirds of the proposed guaranteed purse for a bout against Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao go to him, leaving only one-third to Pacquiao.
But in a twist of fate, he won on Monday a lawsuit he filed against a New Orleans wine bar called The Wine Bistro, which profited by placing his name on a poster for the Super Bowl Takeover event on Feb 1, 2013. Also on the same poster was DJ Drama who would star the next day.
However, the wine bar actually just used his name to sell tickets, which angered Mayweather and caused him to file a lawsuit against the establishment.
TMZ reports that Mayweather won the lawsuit and the U.S. District Court judge awarded him damage. The only thing that pissed off Money May was that the compensation was a measly $2,250!
