Now we all know how most rental cars get treated, but we suspect this McLaren MP4-12C may be treated with a little bit more respect by its users.

Hertz UK has added a white McLaren MP4-12C to its exclusive Hertz Supercars rental line-up.

So if you need a rental vehicle when you next visit Britain to get you from zero to 100km per hour in just 2.8 seconds, Hertz has the answer.

The 447kW/600Nm 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 McLaren MP4-12C with a top speed of 200km/h will set you back a mere £951.62 ($1470) per day - or 'just' £906.30 ($1400) per day if you can afford to rent it for 28 days or longer.

As for the excess reduction? Hertz notes, "Excess charge is £5000 ($7725) and an excess waiver is not available."

The $493,000 McLaren joins the likes of the Ferrari 458 Italia, Lamborghini LP560-4 Bicolore and Mercedes-Benz SLS Roadster on the Hertz Supercars rental fleet.

Unfortunately, a Holden Commodore SV6 is about as exciting as it gets for Hertz's Australian rental line-up.
