A door closes and a bigger window opens.

UFC president Dana White originally planned to showcase Paige VanZant on the upcoming 20th season of The Ultimate Fighter. However, since she will just be turning 21 years old, VanZant was excluded from the competition that will crown the tournament's first ever 115-pound Strawweight champion.

That turned out to be a blessing in disguise as she was signed outright to a contract by the UFC and will be making her debut on October 4th at Halifax, Nova Scotia against Kailin Curran. Through that fight, she will make UFC history by being the youngest woman to engage in the Octagon and the second youngest fighter in the current lineup of the UFC as reported by Yahoo! Sports.

While awaiting the match-up, the lovely model and fighter will be training at home. VanZant is currently a member of Team Alpha Male and presumably will be taken under the wings of superb coaches such as Gilbert Melendez or Anthony Pettis.

While she has only lost once in the four bouts of her career, bowing down to now number 6 ranked Tecia Torres, the losing experience proved to be vital to her maturity as she used it in a bounce back win against Courtney Himes. VanZant secured the victory in just under two and half minutes via a rear-naked choke.

Apart from her skills in the mixed martial arts department, he also has the looks to back it all up. VanZant also works as a model and a dancer and was featured in a Nike commercial.

She will be facing 23-year old and Hawaii native Curran who just started her career in the UFC in 2010. The young athlete has also won all of her fights via decision the last one over Yoo Jin Jung at Pacific Xtreme Combat last February.

Lastly, VanZant warns that her angelic looks are not all that and there is danger to those eyes.
