Meg Ryan And John Mellencamp Affair Ended After Three Years
Meg Ryan's romance has finally come to an end. The actress was dating the famous rocker and musician John Mellencamp for past three years.
The signs of crumbling in their relationship started appearing due to the physical distance between them. It was always speculated, as despite going strong in their relationship, they never even considered moving in together. Mellencamp is completely in love with his countryside home in Indiana and does not want to live in the city.
Ryan on the hand cannot leave New York as it is her only home. The distance between them eventually played the culprit and they gave up the relationship for good. "It was the distance," a source told the magazine. "She lives in New York and he resides in Indiana."
The couple was often spotted together. Whenever seen together, they seemed to be glowing in love and appeared completely relaxed in each other's company. They were seen for the last time only few months back in May. But it was a case of a typical long distance affair when the couples are left with no choice other than seeing each other only after two to three months.
Blond haired and blue eyed, 52 years old star is undoubtedly an outstanding actress. She reportedly turned down the role of 'Vivian' which eventually went to Julia Roberts. She had done some extraordinary work and is known for her projects like Sleepless in Seattle, You've Got the Mail and When Harry met Sally.
This was not her first debacle in relationships. The actress was previously married to Dennis Quaid after working with him in three films. She was reportedly getting involved in an extra marital fling with Russell Crowe. After this episode, the marriage was ended in 2001.
Both Ryan and Mellencamp will soon embark on their new projects respectively, which will act as a balm for their aching hearts and keep their mind off from the break-up. John is busy preparing for his 22nd studio album 'Plain Spoken', set to be released on November this year.
On the other hand, long-time friends Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks are uniting once again for their next movie Ithaca. It is a drama, based on World War II. The actress will be donning the hat of Director for this much awaited flick.
