It has just been confirmed that Megan Fox will not be returning for the third installment of global box-office hit, 'Transformers'. News of the sexy actress' departure came out yesterday morning where it was first reported that the movie's director, Michael Bay, had kicked her out.

However, last night, a representative for Fox confirmed to Access Hollywood that it was her decision to leave. A source at production house Paramount said that her character had to be dropped because in order for the movie makers to take Sam Witwicky, the series' main human character played by Shia LaBeouf, in a new direction, it would have been better and easier if he was not tied down to Fox's character, Mikaela Banes, Sam's love interest in the past two films.

Industry insiders are still speculating that it was ultimately Bay's decision on who stays and who goes in the movie, which has reportedly begun filming. This would not be surprising since late last year, Fox openly criticised Bay's on-set demeanour.

In the September/October issue of Britain's Wonderland Magazine, Fox likened Bay to historical dictators. "He's like Napoleon and he wants to create this insane, infamous mad-man reputation... He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is," said Fox.

However, she also said in the same interview that despite being "a nightmare to work for", he is not always like that. "I kind of really enjoy his personality because he's so awkward, so hopelessly awkward," she explained.

Soon after, some members of the 'Transformers' crew posted an open letter on Bay's blog, condemning the actress by calling her "thankless, classless, graceless" and "unfriendly." Bay later responded and said that while he does not condone the crew's comments about Fox and Fox's comments about him, he said that Fox's "crazy quips are part of her crazy charm."
