Miss World 2013 Megan Young returns to the Philippines. She was given a hero's welcome by her countrymen 10 days after winning the elusive crown for over 60 years. Amid the controversies of the pageant and Facebook bashing, Young remained quiet about Devina Dediva's Facebook filthy maid comment.

When finally asked, Young, during her interview in local radio station DZMM by reporter Zhander Cayabyab, said to her basher. "I wish her the best." She added the issue should not be entertained.

"They are mostly filthy maids and will only be of that status - end of story," she added.

Miss World Philippines National Director Cory Quirino was proud of Young's comment over the issue. "The honor is not only Megan's but the Philippines," she proudly said. "We have made history and have proven once and for all that the Filipina is the most beautiful woman in the world. Mabuhay ang Pilipinas (Long Live the Philippines)."

Devina's screenshot comments about Young and Filipinas in general flooded the social networking sites right after it was posted in Sep. 28.

"Miss Philippines is Miss World? What a joke! I did not know those maids have anything else in them," the famous Facebook quote of Devina Dediva.

Now the name Devina Dediva will be forever be remembered by Filipinos as the girl who made the filthy maid comment. But a lot of Filipinos went out of their way to defend Young and the rest of the Filipino women. Now Dediva has been fired from her work and is under police investigation after a certain Anthony Benedicto filed a police report against the Facebook basher.

Earlier, famous stage actress Monique Wilson slammed Dediva and expressed her views about the racist comments, "That slur was certainly a form of discrimination against Filipinos. Why do we see maids as being lowly? Why? They do an honorable job. They contribute to society and are well-respected and well-appreciated in many countries. We have to be proud of that and not allow people to demean us in that way."
