Meghan Markle, Prince Harry will reportedly announce their engagement by Christmas
Meghan Markle has reportedly quit “Suits” amid reports claiming the announcement of her engagement with Prince Harry is approaching. The 36-year-old American actress is thought to be shooting her last scenes for the show in November.
After admitting they are in love, and that this is “our time,” Markle seemed ready to give up her acting career to become royal full-time. “Meghan knows she can’t really act at the same time as being a princess and is happy to make this career sacrifice,” a source told The Daily Star.
The insider added that the actress enjoys her work with Unicef, and that she will broaden out her charity commitments once she and Harry are married. According to the source, the pair plans to announce their engagement by Christmas.
Recently, there have been reports claiming Markle is not planning to sign up for another series. She is said to be grateful for her role in “Suits,” with another source telling The Sun that she loves playing Rachel and feels she owes so much to the show. It appeared that her decision to leave was not easy; for her to “give up the biggest role of her career would mean a lot,” the source added.
“Suits” propelled Markle to worldwide fame in 2011 and contributed much to her career. Now, there are fears that she will not be returning for the show’s eighth season in 2018.
Harry, the source said, could not relocate to Toronto. For this reason, Markle might eventually move so they could be together. It is believed that she and Harry are already engaged following their August trip to Botswana, but they chose to keep their engagement private to avoid overshadowing the anniversary of Princess Diana’s death. Last week, Markle caused a stir for being driven around London in a swish black Volkswagen by a chauffeur.
The royals maintained that Harry is personally paying for his girlfriend’s car rides rather than allowing her to enjoy taxpayer-funded perks, News.com.au reports. Markle’s romance with Harry, 33, became a public affair this year, and was confirmed after she gave an interview to Vanity Fair. “I’m sure there will be a time when we will have to come forward and present ourselves and have stories to tell, but I hope what people will understand is that this is our time,” she said at that time.
