Meghan Markle’s sister apologises for calling her ‘Ducha—'
Meghan Markle’s half-sister has surprisingly apologised for the foul things she said about her. Samantha Markle, who previously went by the name of Samantha Grant, has explained why she insulted the Duchess of Sussex a lot on Twitter, even calling her Ducha-- at one point.
Samantha has been criticising Meghan on social media since the “Suits” actress announced her engagement to Prince Harry last year. She has called her different offensive names, even blaming their father’s death on Meghan even though Thomas Markle is still alive.
Contrary to the apparent tone on her Twitter posts and her subsequent video interviews, Samantha, who is currently in Britain to try to reach out to Meghan once more, appeared mellow and agreeable in her interview with British Jeremy Vine’s eponymous chat show.
On Monday, Samantha tried to explain to the presenter how she could say that it was not her intention to shame the Duchess when she has continuous belittled her with words, including calling Meghan a hypocrite and telling Harry to “man up.” She claimed she was lashing out at the media, not at Meghan, because the public was making a mockery of her family and the media was allegedly exacerbating their perceived image.
She did, however, concede that she might have gone a bit too far when she called her sister Ducha--.
“I do regret that one,” she said, agreeing when asked if she was apologising to her sister. “Yes, and to Harry.”
As for the hamster image that she posted on Twitter on Harry’s birthday, she explained it was meant to be funny.
She later added, “[Harry] is such a gentleman and so savvy, and I would say that she has found her prince.”
Vine was not convinced, saying Samantha has called her younger sister a lot of vile things, which was inconsistent to her excuse that she was mad at the media. She also claimed that she wanted to get Meghan’s attention because the newly minted royal has been ignoring their family, particularly their father. She said they have tried going through private channels, but Meghan was still silent, and therefore they allegedly had no choice but to go public.
“But how does it help him to alienate Meghan? I don’t understand. Help me understand,” Vine asked her. “How does it get Meghan closer to her father to insult her?”
Samantha, insisted that their goal was also to bring out a very important point: Don’t isolate family. She also said she had last spoken to Meghan three years ago, not 10 years as the media claimed.
“You want to shame her, that’s what it is,” Vine said.
She denied being jealous of her sister, saying she was more hurt for their father than anything else.
Samantha, who had never travelled outside the US before, went to the UK to visit Meghan. She said she had gone to the Buckingham Palace to try to meet her. Meghan lives in Kensington Palace with Harry. The Sussexes are also scheduled to fly to Australia, New Zealand, Tonga and Fiji later this month.
