Mel Gibson found a friend in Jodie Foster. The Oscar-winning actress said she will stick with Mel Gibson despite his ugly racist rants taped by his former girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva.

Foster revealed in MORE Magazine that the second she met Gibson, she told herself, "I will love this man for the rest of my life." Foster describes the "Apocalypse" director Gibson as the "easiest, nicest person I've ever worked with."

"When you love a friend, you don't abandon them when they are struggling," Foster further told MORE. "[Mel Gibson] is and has been a true and loyal friend. I hope I can help him get through this dark moment."

The Hollywood star and Gibson has recently collaborated in "The Beaver," a film revolving around a husband in the suburbs, played by Mel Gibson, who talks through a hand puppet. Jodie Foster directed the movie and also co-stars as Gibson's wife.

"Mel is an undeniably gifted actor and director, and 'The Beaver' is one of his most powerful and moving performances," Foster said.

The October issue of MORE will be available on September 28. However, no release date has been announced for the Jodie Foster-Mel Gibson starrer "The Beaver."
