Mel Gibson movie release pushed back to May
Mel Gibson's latest movie The Beaver has been pushed back from a March 23 release to May 6.
The movie is directed by Jodie Foster while also co-starring with Gibson and also includes actors Anton Yelchin and Jennifer Lawrence.
The film is slated to premiere at the South by Southwest Film Festival on March 16. The later release date is ideal for Foster, who is currently busy filming Roman Polanski's God of Carnage until March.
The movie is considered a comedy-drama film based on an original script by screenwriter Kyle Killen. It tells the story of a depressed CEO of a toy company who uses a beaver handpuppet to communicate with his wife and sons.
The movie has been kept on hold when its lead actor, Gibson, struggled with a public controversy involving taped private phone messages sent by the actor to ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva.
