Melanie Sykes Accused Of Domestic Violence By Estranged Husband
The contestant of the reality show 'I'm A Celebrity' Melanie Sykes has been accused of domestic violence by her estranged husband. He reportedly admitted to being the victim of physical abuse in his six-month marriage to the TV presenter.
In an exclusive chat with The Sun, Jack Cockings revealed in detail how the strange behaviour of Sykes triggered the breakdown of their marriage. He claimed that the abuses were so vicious and ugly that they belied the ultra-feminine appearance of the reality show contestant.
The two met in 2012 and their romance brewed mainly on the micro blogging site Twitter, as told by Daily Mail. In spite of the uncertainty surrounding their relationship due to their age gap, the two got engaged in August 2012 and soon celebrated a lavish wedding.
In the exclusive chat, Cockings said that Sykes has attacked him on numerous occasions while she had been under the influence of alcohol. Speaking for the first time in public, Cockings also claimed that Sykes used to go days without drinking, but would become wasted and violent whenever she did.
The estranged husband of the TV presenter recalled one of the incidents when he had to endure an unpleasant incident during their first Christmas celebration as a married couple. In another incident, she allegedly attacked her newly wed husband in their Mexico hotel room in 2013.
However, the situation crossed the tolerable limit when Sykes declared that their marriage is just a publicity stunt in November 2013 at their London home. She also tried to slap him numerous times when he started packing his stuff to move out.
Cockings had to eventually lock himself in the bathroom and call for help. The police arrived and took the TV presenter in custody and she had to spend the night in jail.
The friends and spokesperson of Sykes are blasting Cockings as an opportunistic person since the TV presenter could not defend herself as she is currently filming in the jungles of Australia for the reality show.
