Melbourne Surgeon Offers Free Operation to 24-Year-Old Aussie Man With Swollen Scrotum
Tyrone Bowd, the 24-year-old Queensland resident who is suffering from a swollen scrotum would no longer need to fly to the United States for a life-saving surgery. The enlarged testicles are the size of a watermelon.
Dr Ramin Shayan, a Melbourne plastic surgeon, has offered to perform the operation for free, sparing the mum of Tyrone from having to raise $100,00 for the plane fare and surgery originally slated to be done in the U.S.

So far, the family has raised $10,000 from public donations.
Tyrone is suffering from scrotal lymphedema. The rare condition leads to infection and results to soaring temperatures, higher heart rate and makes the body turn septic. The enlarged scrotum also makes it difficult for Tyrone to walk.
His mum was so happy to receive the offer from Shayan, holder of a PhD in lymphedema. She said, "We were told no one in Australia could help us, so to find out there's help is great," Tanya Bowd was quoted by Ninesman.
Shayan plans to perform the surgery at the St Vincent's and the O'Brien Institute in Melbourne. He had performed a similar surgery on two patients.
Besides the gigantic testicles, Tyrone also suffers from an inverted penis and is intellectually impaired, causing Tanya to be desperate at times.
"Some days I get to the point where I think we won't get the help we need but as a mother I can't stop. I'm 100 per cent committed to saving my son's life," Daily Mail quoted Tanya.
