The Mentalist vs The Following: TV Crime Drama in People's Choice Awards 2014

"The Mentalist" is nominated at the People's Choice Awards 2014 for the TV Crime Drama category. The Simon Baker starrer is up against other CBS shows: "Criminal Minds" and "NCIS." It is also competing against "Bones" (FOX) and "Castle" (ABC). Vote for your favourite here.

Kevin Bacon is nominated for Favourite Dramatic TV Actor, for his lead role in the thriller crime drama "The Following" (FOX). The show itself, which is believed to have been inspired be The Mentalist's Red John, did not make it to the shortlist of nominees. Simon Baker, however, was not one of the five nominated actors, which include NCIS' Mark Harmon.

The Mentalist Season 6, Episode 8, Red John, is the last of the Red titles. There is a lot of Rockmond Dunbar in the trailer shown by CBS2 (video above). The new series regular will figure prominently in the show's post-Red John era. New friend or new foe?
