The Mentalist Season 5 finale will probably be described as the most important chapter ending the series has ever had since Season 3. For one, Patrick Jane has never been so close to Red John in the last five years of the series. Australian actor Simon Baker puts it simply: this year's finale is "a culmination of a lot of things that have happened" between Jane and his nemesis.

"This episode is a kind of a culmination of a lot of things that have happened in the last two seasons," Simon Baker says in a behind-the-scenes video by SpoilerTV.com.

Robin Tunney, who plays Teresa Lisbon, swears she doesn't know whether Red John has been cast in the series. She says in the same BTS video (scroll below) that her mother won't believe the tight secrecy in The Mentalist production.

On TV.com, the finale description reads: "Red John kills again just as Jane narrows down the suspect list to seven and the victim has a connection to Jane's past." Perhaps this case will bring to viewers more clues about RJ's identity.

Avid 'Mentalist' viewers know these things about Red John: RJ is also known as Roy Tagliaferro. He is a "showman," as Jane describes him. He is "just under 6 feet tall; not muscular, but not soft either; short, straight hair; a gentle voice; rough, strong hands."

Bruno Heller, 'Mentalist' creator and executive producer says this about the 7 Red John suspects: "Some will be obscure, some will be very well-known."

If there is one good reason to never miss the Mentalist Season 5 finale, viewers must just trust Mr Heller's words to TVGuide.com: "We will know who Red John is and we will catch him next season. Everything that has happened over ther past five years will come to a head." (Read: You should not miss the big cliffhangers.)

Emmanuelle Chriqui as Lorelei Martins appears in the finale for what must be a very important (and shocking?) scene. But Martins is dead, isn't she? Heller speaks up: "It's not a flashback, a typo or a mystical thing."

And finally, those who believe Brett Partridge is Red John should know he is listed on TV.com as a recurring character. Could the actor playing Brett, Jack Plotnick, know who RJ is?
