"The Mentalist" Season 6, Episode 10, "Green Thumb" airs Dec. 8 in the U.S. network CBS. Watch the sneak preview below for some spoilers featuring Teresa Lisbon (Robin Tunney), Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) and new cast Emily Swallow as FBI boss Kim Fischer. The three are trying to make it work post-CBI in the post-Red John chapter of the show. Guest character is Defiance Schneiderman (Azita Ghanizada).

Spoiler alert: This feature contains minor spoilers from The Mentalist Season 6, Episode 10, as well as major spoilers from the previous episode. Read at your own risk.

In the previous episode, The Mentalist 6x9 "My Blue Heaven," Jane meets Kim Fischer as a woman soul-searching in extradition-free South America. Jane watches her closely before sparking a conversation, and he discovers she makes some mean tea. Fischer is reluctant to take on a job promotion, while Jane is tricked by FBI agent Dennis Abbott (Rockmond Dunbar), who ignores his "My Terms" list on a napkin.

Viewers saw a predictable episode for Emily Swallow's entry into The Mentalist Season 6. It was also hinted Grace Van Pelt (Amanda Righetti) and Wayne Rigsby (Owain Yeoman) are not leaving the series by death. Kimball Cho (Tim Kang) was still his old self, and he was the first to join the FBI team. Perhaps the viewers could be treated to some answers to "hows and whys" in the future.

In The Mentalist 6x10, the series makes another time jump, albeit shorter this time. Simon Baker fans who think he's hotter when he's a bit scruffy would enjoy the new episode. The Mentalist creator Bruno Heller explained in an interview the writers wanted Patrick Jane to not completely get away with murder. But obviously, Jane has to have some semblance of freedom for the show to go on.

Rockmond Dunbar has been an interesting addition to the cast, as his Abbott character is proving to be anti-Jane. Emily Swallow is being all nice and attractive to Jane as Kim. This will presumably feel Teresa Lisbon jealous. But Jane wouldn't work with Kim in FBI unless he's with Lisbon. Jisbon fans are polarised when it comes to this new third party. Could they make it work in the new The Mentalist dynamics?

Bruno Heller was heavily criticised in many social media posts by revealing a "weak" Red John ending with Napa County Sheriff Thomas McAllister (Xander Berkeley). The Mentalist 6x8 "Red John" was often compared to the series finale of Showtime's "Dexter," in which the longtime avid viewers felt cheated on or shortchanged. Still, The Mentalist creator seems optimistic in interviews that the best days of The Mentalist are not far into the past.

In the preview is Defiance Schneiderman (Azita Ghanizada of "Alphas") as the center of Jane's first case with the FBI, meaning with Lisbon and Fischer. (Interesting, Jisbon fans?)

The Mentalist Season 6, Episode 10, "Green Thumb," appears to be the final 2013 installment of the show, which could go into a long winter break before running its second half. For now, Lisbon, Jane, and Fischer will try to make it work. But could this Jisbon triangle or new chapter justify another season for the series, or are fans seeing the final season of the show?
