"The Mentalist" Season 6, Episode 7, "The Great Red Dragon" aired Nov. 17 in the U.S. network CBS. Simon Baker, who plays Patrick Jane, appears to have shared some solid scoop a couple of months ago. "Who is Red John" gets answered within the 2014 calendar year, like he said. Meanwhile, Rockmond Dunbar debuts on the series as FBI Agent Dennis Abbott.

Spoiler alert: This review recaps the highlights of "The Mentalist" Season 6, Episode 7, "The Great Red Dragon." Major spoilers ahead. Read at your own risk.

After the events that developed in Episode 6, "Fire and Brimstone," The Mentalist 6x07 reveals right away that there are three casualties: Haffner, McAllister, and Stiles. Two from Visualize, one from the Blake Association. "Tyger, Tyger" has never been more frequently used in a single episode in the show's history.

Who is Red John, seriously?

Doubters who can't believe that Brett Partridge (Jack Plotnick) is dead should trust Cho (Tim Kang). No one can (really) doubt that Bret Stiles (Malcolm McDowell) and Ray Haffner (Reed Diamond) are dead. Napa County Sheriff Thomas McAllister (Xander Berkeley), meanwhile, has always been in the bottom two of suspects.

Lab tests and the image of a severed food at the blast site told the viewers there were only three survivors at the blast: Patrick Jane (Simon Baker), CBI Director Gale Bertram (Michael Gaston), and FBI Agent Reede Smith (Drew Powell). Towards the end of "The Mentalist" Season 6, Episode 7, "The Great Red Dragon," Jane faced the press to announce that Bertram is Red John.

'The Mentalist' Season 6 New Cast: FBI Agent Dennis Abbott Steps In, CBI Gets Shut Down

"Sons of Anarchy" actor Rockmond Dunbar debuts on "The Great Red Dragon." Sent to shut down the CBI operations and seize the office as Red John evidence, Dunbar's first meeting with Teresa Lisbon (Robin Tunney) and team have not been pleasant.

Dunbar has been promoted to series regular on The Mentalist Season 6. TV Line's Michael Aussiello reported there's another regular cast coming in, "FBI agent Kim Fischer (Monday Mornings' Emily Swallow), a thirtysomething ex-homicide detective from Dallas who is not afraid to stand up for herself."

Dunbar and Swallow appear to be replacing Van Pelt (Amanda Righetti) and Risgby (Owain Yeoman), who are both exiting the CBS series.

Is Red John Really [SPOILERS]?

Jane appears to be convinced Gale Bertram is the one who killed his wife and daughter. But The Mentalist 6x08 does not say this for sure.

Bertram was in the list of J.J. LaRoche (Pruitt Taylor Vince) when he was figuring out Red John's mole in the organization. (In The Mentalist Season 3 finale, it turned out the mole was Van Pelt's fiancée, Craig O'Laughlin, played by Eric Winter.)

"I realize that this episode raises a lot of questions. Normally at the end of one of our episodes you're able to say more definitive things than I am able to say right now. Jane and Bertram will meet again," Jordan Harper, "The Great Red Dragon" writer, told The Hollywood Reporter.

Many viewers have said, many The Mentalist seasons ago, that the dubious CBI director Gale Bertram is really Red John. Others are betting Reede Smith or the Visualize may still be putting up a show. It appears the ultimate Red John questions will be answered next week.

'The Mentalist' Season 6, Episode 8: 'Red John'

In its Nov. 24 episode, the CBS series The Mentalist will put to rest the Red John arc. At least that is where things appear to be going at the moment. Season 6, Episode 8 is called, "Red John." Series creator Bruno Heller wrote this episode, so avid fans could hardly wait for the week to pass.

Meanwhile, here is a YouTube video showing Simon Baker outside his Patrick Jane character.

"The Mentalist" Season 6, Episode 7, "The Great Red Dragon" may or may not have told the viewers Gale Bertram is Red John. But Episode 8 is expected to really sort things out for the viewers. In the meantime, Patrick Jane seeks solace from a church. Cut to credits.
