The Mentalist Season 6 premiere is still about two months away. This is a hit series that could possibly end by mid-2014. There has been no confirmation yet, but series creator Bruno Heller and actress Teresa Lisbon have both spoken about a possible series ending by May next year.

1. The Mentalist Season 6 premiere is called, "The Desert Rose." As usual, there's "something red" in the episode. But this season, there will be less focus on California crimes.

2. Robin Tunney has revealed this chapter will be a serialised Red John chase. "It's going to be all about finding Red John and not sort of a crime of the week every week," Robin told Digital Spy.

3. Lauren Stamile is slated to guest star on the season premiere of The Mentalist. She's playing Madison Yardley, the wife of a murder victim. Good wife or femme fatale? Too early to tell. But judging from Lauren's appearances on "Grey's Anatomy" and "Burn Notice," Season 6 is off to a good start.

4. Patrick Jane and/or the CBI will catch Red John in this possibly final chapter of the series. After his own investigation, Jane determines seven suspects: Bret Stiles, Gale Bertram, Raymond Haffner, Reede Smith, Bob Kirkland, Sheriff McAllister, and Brett Partridge. Who's the real deal in this list?

5. The Mentalist Season 6 premiere could quickly eliminate one Red John suspect. Matt Webb Mitovich's TV Line scoop cited Bruno Heller as saying, "by the end of the premiere episode, there may be one less suspect."

7. Jane doubts himself. Red John is always two steps ahead of him. The evil killer had his list of suspects in the exact same order he arranged it. (Viewers suspect Jane would soon find out that Rob Kirkland raided his study and got copies of his materials.)

8. The Mentalist Season 6 premiere is scheduled to air on Sept. 29.
