"The Mentalist" Season 7, Episode 1 airs Sunday, Nov. 30, on CBS. Patrick Jane is taking Alicia Florrick's timeslot from then until early 2015, as "The Good Wife" takes a mid-season break. This is the final season of The Mentalist, which creator Bruno Heller called "an encore."

"In the seventh-season opener, Jane (Simon Baker) and Lisbon (Robin Tunney) keep quiet about their new romance while investigating an undercover agent's homicide. Meanwhile, a young, enthusiastic agent joins the team," reads The Mentalist Season 7 premiere synopsis on TV.com.

Patrick Jane finally says something about his real feelings for Teresa Lisbon in the season finale of The Mentalist Season 6. The two share a kiss, marking a happy ending for the Jisbon shippers of the series. What happens next is an "encore," as Heller described in an earlier report.

The new FBI agent in the synopsis is Michelle Vega, to be portrayed by actress Josie Loren. It has been hinted in The Mentalist Season 7 spoiler reports that the actress is staying up to the last few episodes of the season. Loren herself has gone on Twitter to report some filming updates.

Lisbon's brothers (one of whom has already appeared on the show) are appearing in the final season of The Mentalist. Morena Baccarin will also reprise her role as Erica Flynn in Season 7.

Emily Swallow is not expected to return as FBI Agent Kim Fischer, due to a new TV series in the actress' portfolio. The actress was a series regular in The Mentalist Season 6, promoted in the same year as Rockmond Dunbar, who plays Agent Dennis Abbott.

Dunbar is returning in The Mentalist Season 7, with new series regular Joe Adler, who plays Jason Wylie. Tim Kang is also returning as Kimball Cho. The actor has told his Twitter fans he will be documenting the final season of The Mentalist even before official news broke that CBS is not ordering a new season anymore.

Cho and many of The Mentalist fans have expressed their wish to see Amanda Righetti and Owain Yeoman as Grace Van Pelt and Wayne Rigsby in a special reunion episode sometime in Season 7.

A CBS promo clip announces Simon Baker is back in new episodes of The Mentalist from Nov. 30. The clip shows Jane and Lisbon on a date, and fireworks are punctuating the occasion. There are no reports of wedding or engagement, but shippers are hoping just the same.
