"Trust me. This last season will be awesome," Tim Kang said on Twitter. The actor, who plays Kimball Cho in The Mentalist, appears to have confirmed that Season 7 is the final season of the series created by Bruno Heller.
"I'll do my best to document this last season," Kang tweeted mid-September, hinting to fans that he would be more active in helping fans get a sense of closure when the CBS series ends.
"[Kimball Cho] might even smile every once in a while this season. HA!" Kang teased in a separate tweet.
Asked about the premiere date of The Mentalist Season 7, Kang replied: "Pretty sure sometime in January (2015)."
What happens next to Lisbon (Robin Tunney) and Jane (Simon Baker)?
"The transition to the FBI has been able to give us room structurally in the story to explore the potential for a relationship between Jane and Lisbon," Baker told The Hollywood Reporter. "The threat of [Lisbon] parting in a way has been able to give it its due and be able to play it out properly, as opposed to just a sprinkle here and there."
In the same report, Heller said The Mentalist Season 7 will be "like an encore," hinting a happy ending for Jane and Lisbon, as well as the other characters in the show. This brings to mind the fact that Kang said Cho would be seen smiling in the last season of the series.
So far, three spoilers with regards to The Mentalist Season 7 spoilers have made the rounds online: Josie Loren ("Make It or Break It") is playing an FBI rookie, Morena Baccarin is coming back, and Emily Swallow is leaving the gang (reportedly in favour of a new series).
