A Julia Roberts-Meryl Streep starrer is reportedly in the works. Reports say that the two might be next seen together on-screen with the adaptation of of Pulitzer Prize-winning play August: Osage County.

Roberts and Streep are in negotiations to star in the adaptation, according to reports. However, representatives for the Hollywood actresses are yet to issue a statement on the matter.

The film, which begins shooting next summer, would be directed by ER's John Wells from a screenplay by Letts for the Weinstein Co.

Streep is set to play a drug-addicted matriarch while Roberts will play her eldest daughter, whose husband gets involved in an affair with a student.

The play won a Pulitizer Prize for drama and the Tony Award for best play in 2007. Harvey Weinstein has since been developing a film version for the play after it successfully premiered at the Steppenwolf Theater Company.
